She was born in Krakow, Poland, the old medieval university town , which was the capital of Poland for centuries. One of the oldest and most famous European universities – The Jagiellonian University – was founded there in the year 1364 .
After completing a secondary school, she studied Polish and Russian literature as well as history of art at The Jagiellonian University. After graduating from the university, she worked as a teacher of history of literature and art. During that time, she was a member of Solidarity, helping to prepare an educational reform in the area of teaching literature and art.
In 1989, when a free market was allowed in Poland, Elzbieta started her own advertising business, which she ran for several years.
In 2006, during her stay in the US, she met Dr David Grove whom she married in 2009.
Since his death in 2016, she has been spending her time between the U.S., which is her permanent domicile, and Poland, where her son Pawel and his family live.
In Poland, she was involved in several publishing and cultural programs, and now The Elzbieta and David Grove Private Foundation gives her an opportunity to take part in different social, educational and cultural projects in her local community.
She greatly appreciates Mrs. Beata Buhl–Tatka’s and Mr. Maurizio J. Morello’s cooperation and feels honored and lucky to have both of them as Vice Presidents of the Foundation .
